Every time I open the store again, it feels like I’m adding another layer. Just a little clearer, a little more refined, a little more BRÛLÉ.
When I started this BRÛLÉ, I knew exactly what I didn’t want. I didn’t want to overproduce. I didn’t want to sit on excess inventory. I didn’t want to design collections years in advance for seasons I might not even feel inspired by when they actually arrive. And I definitely didn’t want to wake up one day with my brand being reviewed by 19-year-olds on TikTok (if you haven’t ended up on this side of TikTok…bless).
I’ve watched people launch brands around the same time I started BRÛLÉ. A lot of them went viral, scaled fast, skyrocketed. And sure, that growth looks great from the outside. But I never wanted fast fashion. I don’t want to just get big. I want to build something iconic. Pieces that live in your closet for years. Pieces you reach for over and over and say: that’s BRÛLÉ.
I can’t say there haven’t been times where I’ve thought, why not me? I’ve had those moments. But every time I’ve tried to chase something that wasn’t fully me, it never landed. Even last fall, when I made merch for my side project - it just wasn’t me. The merch. I tried. But you’ll never catch me in a branded sweatshirt or something I’ll wear for a season and get rid of. That’s not how I dress. I still wear pieces I’ve had for four, five years, and they still feel good. Timeless. Simple. Well-made. That’s what I’ve always gravitated toward. That’s the energy I want BRÛLÉ to hold.
How I build BRÛLÉ
The store opens. The store closes. That’s the system. And it’s fully intentional.
When you place your order during a drop, once that store window closes, I create the cutting ticket. That ticket goes directly into production. Francisco, who I started working with a few months ago, hand-makes every piece here in Los Angeles. One by one. No giant warehouse. No bulk inventory sitting somewhere. Just what’s ordered. Nothing extra.
When production’s complete, I hand-ship every order myself. Every single piece that leaves has passed through my hands. I’m involved in every part - design, naming, fabric sourcing, fittings, packaging, shipping. Then I open the store again, take the next round of orders, and we repeat.
It keeps everything clean. Intimate. Fully in rhythm with how I want to create.
And if you see something live on the site, it’s for right now. You don’t know if or when it’ll come back. That’s the energy I want. It keeps the pieces special. You have to catch them while they’re here.
Creating in REAL time
What I’ve never resonated with in traditional fashion is designing so far ahead. I don’t want to make next summer’s collection before this summer even starts. I want to create what I’m inspired by now. What feels good right now. What I actually want to wear right now.
Almost every piece in BRÛLÉ comes from something personal. The Colette, for example, was built off a tank I’ve owned forever. I loved certain things about it. I didn’t love others. So I took what worked, fixed what didn’t, and made it into what I was looking for. That’s how every piece is built. They’re all pieces I wanted in my own closet but couldn’t find anywhere else.
This drop is exactly what it sounds like: ease. Not rushed. Effortless. The kind of pieces you keep pulling for without even realizing how often you’re wearing them.
And everything in this edit was designed to layer and mix. That’s how I like my closet to feel. Everything works together.
You think I stopped combining at food? No. This is how I like to live. My closet, my home, my diet - all built to mix and layer simply. Clean. Intentional. Honestly, if you packed this entire drop with a few swimsuits, you’d be fully set for a European summer. This is the core of BRÛLÉ.
COLETTE. Square neckline. Ribbed cotton. Clean fit that sits close to the body without clinging. I love this layered under The Bowie and The Lowe or worn with vintage denim. Built from a tank I’ve loved for years but could never find again.
ALBA. It was a top. Now it's a dress. Here we are. The little black dress for summer, without being black. Light enough for the sun. Barely-there enough for night. Sheer, oversized, and sensual. Layered over the Colette Tank and Jude Boxer as a dress. Thrown on over a swimsuit after a long beach day. Paired with tall boots or heels at night. The piece you throw on after too much sun but before you’re ready to go inside. Simple. Effortless. A little undone. Always right.
REMI. Cut from a vintage thermal I sourced downtown. Already feels broken in. Mid-waisted. Relaxed leg. Perfect with the Sloan or Colette Tanks during the day, with The Bowie thrown on at night when it cools off.
SLOAN. Minimal, sharp, clean. The raw stitching keeps it from feeling too polished. Hugs the body just enough. This is the tank you don’t even realize you keep wearing until it’s in the laundry (but I hand-wash my brule…and lay flat to dry, ofc).
JUDE. The ultimate base layer. The Jude Boxer works under everything. Under The Bowie and Lowe Pant. Under The Alba. Paired with the Sloan or Colette. Barefoot at home or layered for out. One of my personal staples.
BOWIE. The anchor piece. Worn open over a swimsuit. Buttoned with the Lowe Pant. Open with the Remi Short and Colette Tank. Tossed over your shoulders at night when it cools down. In Brûlé Brown, it feels even softer and richer. This color works on every skin tone, every hair color. It’s the perfect brown for summer. Rich, deep, and versatile. Brown is the new black for this drop.
LOWE. The pant that holds everything together. High waist. Wide leg. Soft structure that moves but holds shape. I wear this barefoot at home, with sandals during the day, or heels at night. Light enough for summer but structured enough to feel dressed. Simple but elevated.
Every single piece in this edit was designed to layer with the others. That’s how I want BRÛLÉ to feel. Simple. Timeless. Thoughtful.
The Ease Edit is live now. Limited shopping window. Made to order. Hand sewn in Los Angeles. Handled by me, every step of the way.
And for everyone asking - the new halter top and pant will release in the next drop on the 11th. That’s how this works. One edit at a time.

Hi kenzie! I’m obsessed with the button down and was just wondering, how tall are you? I’d love to know so I can figure out if it would be as oversized on me 😊
