“In a world that moves at such a fast pace, remember that you do not have to do anything according to anyone else's time. Take things slow, move with intention, and live in harmony. It is your life. You get to choose your how, when, and why.”
I turned a year older this week. It wasn’t loud. I didn’t want it to be.
There’s something about birthdays that always brings a deeper stillness for me. I tend to go dark. Every year, I hype it up, and then the week of, I quietly hope no one remembers. But I want them to remember. Is that messed up? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just the way growth feels—uncomfortable, exposed, full of contradiction.
What I do know is this: the stillness isn’t sadness. It’s space. A space that asks me to really look at how I’m living. What I’m creating. What I’ve outgrown but haven’t let go of. What I haven’t given myself full permission to step into yet.
And maybe it’s not just the birthday. Maybe it’s the eclipse. Things feel slower right now. Heavier. Sharper. There’s a quiet clarity that comes during times like this, when the old ways stop working and you realize you’re the only one who can choose something different. Not just for your life—but for your rhythm.
That’s where I’ve been. And that’s exactly where this recent drop; BRÛLÉ 01 came from. This wasn’t meant to be a big launch. I didn’t want to create a full collection. I wanted to start with the foundation—the pieces that actually hold.
The Bowie and The Lowe. Two pieces. No filler. Just what works.
The BOWIE is the shirt I’ve worn in my head a thousand times. Inspired by a vintage men’s button-down I never stopped reaching for, softened by time and structure in all the right places. Inspired by a vintage men’s button-down I never stopped reaching for—softened by time, structured in all the right places.
We cut it from thick black linen. Gave it shell buttons. Designed it to drape with ease but still feel intentional. You can wear it closed. Open. Tied. Belted. Over jeans. As a dress.
It doesn’t demand attention. It earns it. It becomes your signature without needing to say much. I love having a piece like this—something I can throw on as a dress and feel completely put together. It’s the definition of less is more—quiet, confident, unforgettable.
Here I am in the Bowie–styling her as a dress, ofc.
The LOWE is the pant I’ve searched for years. Wide-legged. High-waisted. With a clean waistband, deep pockets, and a weight that moves the way you want your day to move.
They don’t hug. They hold. They let you breathe, but they still feel sharp. I wear them barefoot on my kitchen floor. I wear them with a heel at night.
They’re the kind of piece that makes everything else feel unnecessary. I love pairing them with The Bowie as a full set—but they’re just as strong on their own.
If I could only pack one thing for a trip, it would be The Lowe. That’s how reliable they are. Effortless, grounding, always right.
Every piece in BRÛLÉ 01 is made to order. Nothing is pre-produced. There’s no backstock. No excess. No overproduction.
Everything is sewn by Francisco in Los Angeles—a one-man operation with decades of luxury production experience. No fast fashion. No frantic launches. Just what’s needed. When it’s asked for.
You order. We make it. That’s the rhythm.
This isn’t for everyone. But if you’ve been craving simplicity, clarity, and a way of moving that doesn’t feel chaotic—this is it.
You don’t need more. You just need the right pieces. The ones that become part of your rhythm. The ones that live in your wardrobe for years because they never stop working.
That’s what BRÛLÉ 01 is. Two pieces. One foundation. Made slowly. Made to stay. The store closes April 2nd. The Bowie and The Lowe are yours until– & I can’t wait to make them for you.
If it’s live, it’s yours. Handmade in Los Angeles.
Happy Friday, Happy Birthday week to me (urg), and Happy Eclipse (f*ck)!
As always…
X,
KB
